The 3 star rating corresponds to the actual color of the stain. It is more orange than indicated on the plate. So be careful! I don’t like this color, because it seems to me that it would be more brown, like in a bucket.

Two years later, it looks like a complete mess and is leaking everywhere. I do not recommend doing this! Now I have to find a way to get rid of it completely and find a better product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by No More Energizers from 2 historical sites. In 2020 I built a new pine fence and left it for a year before painting it in August 2021. Most of the stains I used were Behr No. 30. House and Fence Dye, however, I also have a 25 year can of Olympic Fence Dye and a 10 Year Deck Dye. I used Olympic Hat dye on a long section of the fence, expecting the 25/10’s longevity to last indefinitely. I used beer stain for the cap and vertical panels on the rest of the fence. To my surprise, when I checked the fence this spring, in just one winter, the Olympic stigmata had completely disappeared by at least 50%, leaving the tree bare. However, Behr’s tint maintains 100% coverage and looks just as good as when I applied it last summer. The pictures speak for themselves, so I’ll attach two of them: one with the flaky Olympic stain and one with the perfectly intact beer stain. Note that they apply to the same fence, to the same tree, to the same environment, and to the same person. One that lasts, one that doesn’t, you decide which one you want to use.
