Benjamin Moore Platinum Gray Exterior – “What color paint is it?” This is the most common question I get by email, message, and comment. From someone known to knock on strangers’ doors asking about exterior paint colors, I totally get it! For today’s post, I’ve rounded up all of our previous house paint colors; good paint colors are hard to find and they are all stayers in my book!

The exterior of our house was painted Benjamin Moore Coventry Gray (flat finish) – I can’t take credit for choosing it as it was the color of our house when we bought it, but I love it! It’s a great mid-tone gray that looks a little darker than the picture. One thing to keep in mind when choosing a paint color for your home’s exterior is that if it’s on the house, your paint will flake lighter than you’d expect (actually the opposite of what works for interior paint colors). ).

Our home office is painted Benjamin Moore Nightfall (Regal Select Matte Finish). Sometimes people mistake it for navy blue when they see photos of my office, but it’s a dark charcoal gray/light black that I would describe as a soft black in certain lighting. If you want to paint a room black without feeling harsh, this is a great option.

I have my good friend Lisa from Shine Your Light to thank – I tried five black swatches on our office walls and didn’t like a single one when she came to the rescue with this great recommendation! Of The Best Gray Paint Color Options For Guest Bedrooms

Our dining room is painted a custom version of Sherwin Williams Keystone Gray (Duration Home Matte Finish); I used the color in my previous home and loved it so much I repeated it. It’s a warm gray to brown (gray) that’s a good choice if you want something versatile (it seems to go with everything!) and darker than your usual gray. I only changed one hair formula because it has some light purple tones that I wanted to tone it down. I have the exact paint formula I used at the end.

Originally our living room was also painted key gray, but it’s a darker room than our living room, so last year I decided to change it up and go a little lighter with the paint color. I tested several gray paint colors, including these four finalists (left to right: Worldly Gray, Annie Gray, Revere Pewter, Aggregate Gray) (see Readers’ Favorite Grays):

I ended up going for the Sherwin Williams Annie Gray (second from the left in the photo above) and I absolutely love it!

Benjamin Moore Paint

One of my favorite remodeling projects was doing my daughter’s bathroom, including painting the walls. I chose Sherwin-Williams Alpaca (Emerald Barne Latex in Matte Finish) for the walls, which is also gray in my Top 10 Gray Paints post. This is a very nice, very clear but not very clear one that I would use again:

And the vanities/cabinets are painted Sherwin-Williams Alabaster which completely refreshes them from their previous old, worn look. You can see the details of how I transformed our bathroom cabinets with paint.

Our kitchen was originally painted Benjamin Moore White Dove (Regal Select Matte Finish), one of my favorite whites (see my other favorite whites here)! It is warm white with yellow undertones. I’ve used it several times and it definitely looks more yellow in some places than others depending on the light. You can see in this image that where there’s a lot of light (through) it looks like true white, and in the more shaded areas (like the corner of the baker’s rack) you can see the yellow undertone:

After remodeling our kitchen (you can check out the “before” and “after” photos of our remodel if you missed it), I changed up the white paint color a bit and went with Benjamin Moore Cloud White (Regal Select Flat Finish) . White Cloud is very similar to White Dove in that it is a warm white with a slight yellow tint, but is a bit cleaner. Our kitchen decorations are also painted Cloud White, but with a satin finish:

I tried White Dove, Cloud White and Simply White on the walls when choosing white for our family room. Dove White looked yellow in the room and Simply White was too white for this room. The White Cloud was somewhere in the middle: the beautiful white Goldilocks! The ceiling and walls are both painted cloud white, but since the ceiling is satin (with BM Advance) and the walls are matte (Regal Select), the ceiling color appears slightly brighter than the walls. With white paint, gloss plays a greater role than other colors in the appearance of painted walls.

I painted our powder room walls with two shades of gray: the background color is Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray (Aura Bath & Spa Matte Finish) and the stencil is Benjamin Moore Platinum Gray (mixed with Behr Premium Plus Ultra Satin Finish). I painted our tile floor platinum gray (a low-gloss floor and patio glaze). The two colors work really well together and are also great colors when used separately (Chelsea Gray is one of my dark grays!).

Farrow & Ball’s All White (Estate Eggshell) is the color I used to paint and update the overlapping walls in our master bedroom (you can see more photos of our bedroom + a full resource list and my DIY tutorial). It’s true white with no obvious blue or yellow (some of the blue on our bedroom walls is a reflection of the curtains). Very bright, clean and without being cool.
