However, this has some serious side effects, as not all grays are created equal – Revere Pewter Gray is a step out of the box.

Revere Pewter is a warm grey, meaning it has a slightly ‘earthy’ or beige undertone to it. Will it look beige on your counters? Oh no, it’s not that hot; It’s nowhere near a grayer world.

Although it may appear very gray in some lights, its surface is green, and this is where it is not easy. Many popular white quartz countertops have a purple tint, not green. Some people still pair quartz countertops with Revere Pewter and enjoy playing different shades (me included). However, others have concerns about these partnerships.

Let’s take a look at Reverend Pewter in my client’s kitchen, with light Edgecomb Gray on the walls and modern style quartz counters…

The next photo shows the warmer and greener Revere Pewter (a darker shade) compared to the stormier, more beautiful Benjamin Moore Stonington Grey.

The LRV of Revere Pewter is 55.05, which means it’s dark in color, but it’s closer to a light-medium depth because it has quite a bit of meat on its bones.

However, you may find that the cabinet paint (a satin finish is recommended) makes the Revere Pewter look a little more vibrant than you’d like, especially if you’ve seen it on a wall (in a matte or eggshell finish ). For this reason, I often recommend darkening Revere Pewter to 25% or 50% – Heck, do samples with both. Painting kitchen cabinets is a big project; The test is worth your time!

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter: A Complete Color Review

If you think Revere Pewter might be too dark for your kitchen, look at colors with a higher LRV, such as Gray Approved Sherwin Williams, Egret White and here. Remember, the lighter your cabinet color (other than white), the more difficult it is to find the right wall color.

As for your walls, no, Revered pewter is not old and still has a place in the center of the house – as long as the house has good lighting. This is because when cool grays are not in trend, warm grays work well, especially when they are well chosen around the finish. If your home is dark, Revere Pewter will look heavy and bulky, which is not a trend with this color. Revere pewter is also gold on the outside.

As far as cabinets go, Revere Pewter is still trendy, thanks to its earthy, warm colors. This doesn’t mean it will last forever, but you’ll get more out of it than a normal cool brown, especially if you darken it a bit.

Neutral Paint Colors We Love And Where To Use Them

The darkness of Revere Pewter makes it slightly different from many wall colors that go well with it, such as the lightness of Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Grey, White Dove, Sherwin Williams Aesthetic White and some other warm colors. half

I chose Revere Pewter for the counters in my kitchen and darkened it about 25% to give it more depth. I paired it with the Cambria Britannica Warm white quartz, which pairs wonderfully with the Revered Pewter…

Because our home has a nice open floor plan, I painted our other doors (bedroom, laundry room, bathroom) with Revere Pewter (50% darker) to create a lighting effect. Together, and I really like how they look with white paint (Benjamin Moore White Dove)…

As you can see in the next two pictures, I changed the layout of the shelves, giving us a lot more overhead space!

‘-Nature of work. But the real reason I regret Revere Pewter is that it limits the color options for my walls—yes, my walls.

Revere Pewter is a light to light-medium dark warm brown with a green tint. To contrast with the walls, my walls should be white or white with undertones that match Rev Pewter (limited). I like to make changes at least once a year, and if I want to make my walls a darker lighter or lighter-medium color – I can’t do that, because that’s the way Revere pewter has become.

A Revere Pewter Kitchen Cabinet Makeover

So, I’m stuck with a palette of Revere Pewter with white, off-white, or darker colors on the walls (which I don’t want for the whole open concept of my home).

In all of the photos above, the walls are Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray (lighter to give contrast), but I recently changed the walls to Benjamin Moore White Dove (as there was no option, although I still like r look).

If you’re the type of person who picks one color and sticks with it for months, don’t let the above deter you. If you love something whether it’s trendy or not and love it even when it’s not, then get yourself a pair of little gray boots! And hey, if you’re happy with white/less white walls or neutral to neutral-dark colors forever, Amen – paint away, my friend! But if, like me, you like to switch things up from time to time, Revere Pewter will limit your options in the future.

How To Use Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter In 2023

Now there’s a question on the way! Now, it’s not just time for white trims and doors. And although some homes (especially older homes) will fit them forever and amen, this difference will pass in the average home.

As seen below (50% dark) on my Revere Pewter door, it is a great companion to many whites. If you want some gray but are afraid to paint your entire border, this idea is a happy medium…

Overall, Revere Pewter looks great on interior doors and trims (and exteriors…and walls) if you want a soft, gray, soft gray look. Remember, the depth of this color makes it difficult to paint your walls anything other than white, light off-white or darker than Revere Pewter.
