As you read, you will notice that some of the images of the houses below are slightly different from each other, although they all share the same color scheme. That’s because our virtual exterior design services take into account natural light, the orientation of your home, the surface you’re painting on, and more. In addition, in the renderings we use only those paint colors that we would use in real life. Remember, it’s just as easy to paint your house right as it is to paint it wrong!
Best Benjamin Moore Warm Gray Paint Colors That Will Never Be Outdated
Classic Gray is a warm white/light gray paint that looks soft and muted. It has an LRV of 74.78, which is considered higher range, meaning it’s a lighter color that reflects more light. (Learn more about LRV here – it’s incredibly important for exterior paint.)
Whites, grays and grays all have nuances that are important when choosing a paint color for your home environment. These tones can be blue, green, or purple (or any combination thereof). Classic gray has a passive purple tone. But don’t let that scare you. In most environments, where most paints and materials are colored, the purple tone is invisible (and less noticeable than other similar whites, such as Sherwin Williams’ Eider White).
We didn’t mince words when we said that classic gray is universal. It works in many mediums: stucco, brick, siding and James Hardie siding. We’ve used it in modern, contemporary, traditional, transitional and farmhouse projects, as well as commercial exterior designs.

If you’re using it as a base color and want to pair it with a lighter finish, we love Simply White.
Classic gray also works well with rich colors such as Regent Green (in the panels below), black and near-black.

Instead, classic gray is warm and soothing. You can think of it as a soft, subtle white color. You sometimes notice when the sun just shines like it’s white. When the light changes, you’re still left with a nice warm gray.
I recommend always using color swatches and testing them before you start, especially if you have black or use a lot of browns and tans. They might turn a little gray when you’re around them, but they still look amazing. It just depends on what you’re looking for and if it’s a good fit.

What does LRV mean? LRV means the light reflectance value of paint colors on a scale from 0 (pure black) to 100 (pure white). Essentially, colors with an LRV rating of 0 will be darker and numbers closer to 100 will be lighter.
Classic gray paint has a light reflectance coefficient, or LRV, of 74. This means it looks more like white than true gray. If you place it in a room with too much natural light, it will most likely appear a muted white. But if you pair it with white trim, you can tell the difference.
You can’t go wrong with BM Classic Gray if you want your space to look clean, soft and calm. Benjamin Moore recommends the following colors:
