Color analysis is the process of determining colors that match your natural colors. There are many different ways to analyze personal color. The best known is the “annual” color analysis, which divides each color into four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.
What Color Suits Me? Find Your Perfect Shade
Seasonal color analysis was developed by Carole Jackson when she published her incredibly popular book “Color Me Beautiful” in 1980. In it he emphasizes the importance of understanding what works specifically for you and your life, rather than following trends and building ideas slowly. A wardrobe that revolves around your personal style and color palette.
Seasons have nothing to do with your favorite season or the season you were born in. Rather, they are a more poetic way of distinguishing different types of colors. They can easily be called types A, B, C, and D. However, if you use this basic color scheme for all seasons, it will be easier to remember.
In the 1990s, “Color Me Beautiful” increased the number of species from 4 to 12 for greater accuracy. However, sometimes this can make it more difficult to identify your type. We’ll be diving deeper into 8 additional colors and corresponding color palettes in an upcoming “The Color of Your Skin Tone” series.
Your skin tone is the color beneath the surface. You may have the same skin color (ivory, brown, beige, etc.) as someone else, but a different tone that can make you completely different.
Cool Warm Skin Undertones: How To Tell Which One You Have In 2020
If your hair and skin tone have warm tones, you will be described as spring or autumn. If your skin is blue, a cold tone and your hair is gray, without gold or red color, you are in summer or winter.
Roll up your sleeves now and look at the veins in your wrist. Are they green or green? If they look blue, you probably have a cool undertone. If the veins look green, you are hot. It is important to note, dear ladies, that your veins are not really green: they look like that because you see them with yellow skin (if we mix colors then yellow + blue = green).
Think about whether you look better in silver or gold jewelry. It’s not the thing you like the most, but the thing that makes you look brighter, brighter and more awake. Generally, cool-toned women look best in silver and platinum metals, while warm women look best in gold and gold.
Think about which neutral tones suit you. Do your skin, eyes and face look better in light shades of black and white? Or do ivory, off-white and brown/bronze tones suit you better? The first means cool and the second hot.
Cool Skin Tone Hair Colors (super Simple Guide)
Your natural eye color and hair color can help you find your undertone. Generally, cool-toned people have blue, blue-gray, gray, cool green, gray-brown, or gray eyes and brown, brown, or black hair with shades of green, silver, purple, and gray.
In contrast, women with a warm tone usually have blue, turquoise, green, hazel, light brown, olive, or warm green eyes with blonde, strawberry blonde, red, brown, or black. Their hair tends to have golden, red, orange or yellow tones.
When you sunbathe, does your skin turn golden or burn and turn pink first? If you fall into the first category, you have a warm tone, while cool tones tend to burn: beautiful girls with fair skin are just burning, while cool-toned girls with medium skin are burning and dark.
Using just your skin tones, you can split the color wheel down the middle into warm and cool colors to find colors that will look good on you. This is good to remember if you want a general idea of your beautiful colors but can’t remember the details. If you have cool undertones, the cool side of the color wheel will be a great choice for you. If you have a warm undertone, choose the warmest colors on the color wheel.
Cool (true) Winter Color Palette And Wardrobe Guide
The second part of determining the season is how light or deep your color will be. This part is actually very easy to figure out and is based on your natural hair color.
If your natural hair color is lighter than medium brown, you are typed as Spring or Summer If your natural hair color is darker than medium brown, you are typed as Winter or Autumn.
Now that you understand your skin tone and how light/dark it is, you can determine the season!
This is a brief summary of the entire process. The Color Me Beautiful source material gives a more detailed explanation and also explains some unusual things (for example, in very rare cases, the Winter type can have hair that is almost platinum blonde).
