We feel good about what we do every day. Our renovated 25,000-square-foot grocery warehouse and our 6,000-square-foot store in Charlotte, NC are filled with materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill, Eva says. So what do modern textiles do with their waste? The rest is donated to charities that use the fabric for fundraising projects.
“If your furniture is more than 15 years old, refinish it instead of replacing it,” suggests Eva. Chances are, your piece was made from better quality materials than today. The fabric, foam and backing can be removed and remade into a unique piece. And every time someone appreciates that uniqueness, you’ll have a story to tell. You won’t find anything like it in any store, that’s for sure.”

Weekly arrivals of premium fabrics fuel James and Eva’s passion for mid-century design. They choose mid-century designs from manufacturers such as Knoll, Muharram and Kudrat, which are increasingly popular with mid-century modern enthusiasts. The large supply allows them to reduce their factories by 50 to 80 percent, making their formula successful.
Not everyone needs the specialized and expensive fabrics available from harsh climate manufacturers. Most modern fabric supplies are full of premium treasures and very durable.
For James, his interest in all things mid-century grew out of flying to exotic locations with his father, a Pan Am airline pilot. Eva has always been drawn to factory artisan qualities, and her passion for mid-century design has become a specialty. Owning their lavishly furnished mid-century home in rural North Carolina gave the two of them time to talk and travel.

You’ve gone for clean lines and a minimalist look, so you’ll want to continue to put effort into your clothing choices. If your preferred colors are minimal, choose textures and solid colors.
