Warning! Scraping, sanding, or stripping old paint can release lead dust or fumes. Lead is toxic. Exposure to lead dust or fumes can cause serious illnesses, such as brain damage, especially in children. Pregnant women should also avoid exposure. Test on a small, inconspicuous area before use to ensure appearance is satisfactory. Apply generously with a nylon brush or roller. Make sure the stripper does not come into contact with exposed metal or surfaces that remain covered. Do not dry the stripper. Once dry, water and reapply the stripper. Wait 5 to 45 minutes for the paint stripper to remove or dissolve the coating. The liner will rinse off easily when finished. Scrub where necessary with a stiff brush. Work in the direction of the grain to minimize grain aggregates. To prevent scrub, rinse the tree thoroughly with water from a garden hose or pressure washer at a temperature of 500 to 1,200 psi. Do not dry the stripper. Once dry, water and reapply the stripper.
One gallon covers approximately 50 to 150 square feet or 4.6 to 13.9 square meters depending on the texture of the wood.
