I use the word “finished” loosely because, in truth, my house is never finished for me. It will be a work in progress.
My latest kitchen project is painted kitchen cabinets! Benjamin Moore offers a color that will brighten up your space – Revere Pewter!
Of all the colors I have used to paint my kitchen cabinets, this is the one my husband and I agree on. We knew it would give our kitchen the warm, modern update we were looking for!
Our Revere Pewter Kitchen Cabinet Remodel
BM Revere Pewter (HC-172) is a rich gray with undertones that works very well with selected styles.
Revere Pewter has an LRV of 55.51. LRV is a light reflectance value, which basically tells how much natural light the paint absorbs and reflects back into the room.
In general, higher values are better if you want to use low light in a place or need more privacy (for example, a bathroom). Lower LRV colors allow more light to enter and brighten the room.

Revere Pewter has a higher LRV than many other neutrals, making it perfect for places like the kitchen! We wanted the kitchen cabinets painted in a way that didn’t let in too much natural light – we went for a light, airy look.
Revere Pewter has a warm earthy tone that works well with many styles of home decor! If you are looking for kitchen cabinets to match unique decor, this may not be the best option for you.
Blue minerals in this color work well with interior styles and modern, and transitional styles!

After owning 3 houses and painting almost every room, I’ve learned to work around a color scheme or two. While I’ve listed the colors room by room in my current home, I’ve never gone into them, so I’ll try to do so here. I thought I’d start with one of the most intimate spaces in our home – the great room!
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
To be fair, this color is not only in our living room, we chose it as the basic color palette for the whole house. And I don’t regret it for a second!
The popular greige color finish of Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter creates a different look in every room, depending on the furniture and decorative accents. It’s sour! But there may be a reason why it is so popular. Oh, and before I go any further, I thought I’d address the elephant in the room:
Greige is exactly what it sounds like – gray color with beige elements. This is one of the gray paint colors that can get more of a gray or beige color depending on the light (natural and artificial). In our house, Revere Pewter looks like beige with warm accents, but we found a gray couch and a few grays that brought out the gray in the rug.
Taupe Paint Colors I’m Loving And Inspired By
When we redid our laundry room we spent $80 and I am very happy with it. This room has zero natural light, so the Revere Pewter here looks like a nice beige with a gray accent.
If you have a room that isn’t very bright, like our laundry room, you’ll want to add some color with furniture or painted furniture. We chose to paint our cabinets here, which helps the color look dull or strange brown.
We painted the moldings in this room and made an off white chair rail and loved it. Although the pictures make it look really beige, the natural light is turning gray most of the day. That’s why I always recommend painting patterns on your wall! 🙂

I hope it’s not just me and you can see how much it makes a difference with light. It looks completely gray in Christina’s house! In my house and Vidya’s place it looks like beige with gray furniture.
Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is a very familiar color that many people use as a neutral gray in their home. When I saw these two colors in actual rooms, Agreeable Gray was a little warmer and more purple than Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. Revere Pewter can look gray in the right light; I don’t know if Agreeable Gray is like that.
Chelsea Gray is another popular color, but as you can see from the swatch above, it’s very dark. Benjamin Moore described him as a “well-dressed man” which really made me laugh. I think it has more shades of gray than BM Revere Pewter, but I don’t know if it is charcoal. However, its color is that Chelsea Gray is a black that I don’t think is versatile as a wall color. I think it would be great as one of the accent colors in your home.
Revere Pewter Kitchen Update
Another on the list of popular gray colors is Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams. Again, I think it’s a good shade, but I don’t know if I’d call it a perfect shade. To me it has more undertones and is darker than Revere Pewter. It’s a beautiful color, just don’t think it’s as bright as Revere Pewter.
Sherwin Williams Repose Gray is one of the closest competitors to BM Revere Pewter. I love Repose Grey. I think it’s a beautiful soft gray with purple accents in real life. With many light grays from any brand, it has brown, blue or purple undertones, and it all depends on your lighting conditions. Although we have BM Revere Pewter in our home, SW Repose Gray is a very nice shade. I think I have half a mind to redo our whole house with it if it doesn’t come close.
But that would require raising a full bra, and that’s not the party I want to be invited to at this point.
Kitchen Paint Color Ideas You’ll Want To Copy
I think since we chose Revere Pewter as the color for most of our home, we really love it!
