, then apply the 2nd coat, it looks good. But I don’t have enough time to set 2 covers for all areas.

And other people say I’m fine with HD Bear brand quality and coverage.

I went to the SW store to pick up a brush and paint and happened to be talking to an associate when the next sale was. He showed me a piece of paper with all the sale dates and the next one is June 9-12.

The tin on the back was used last year with pigment and in May it started to crack and peel. Any better price/quality recommendations for back stains?

Edit: I’m not saying Cutek isn’t good, but at half the price it works better than acrylic or water based.

And how do they compare to what’s south of the border? I’ve read that Canadian formulas are weak due to environmental/toxicity regulations.

Edit: I’m not saying Cutek isn’t good, but for half the price it works better, any acrylic or water based Cabot is decent too. If you compare the coverage of the two, you’ll find that the price is comparable, except that the Cabot isn’t half the price.

I’ve read that Canadian formulas are weak due to environmental/toxicity regulations. Yes, many of us do. Product growth is much higher than Canadian products. I’ve used all kinds of stains over the years and imo Cute holds up really well with proper prep. I recommend taking any recommendations or reviews from Deckstainhelp.com. The site is basically an unbiased front for the company behind the recommended products.

If possible (and cheaper) I wouldn’t have to go across the border and bring tin containers. As long as I get 3-4 good years out of it. To extend the life of the blanket, I don’t need to lubricate it every summer.

I painted a few rooms in our last house and our current house with B.M. Regal Select, but they haven’t sold well in years.

Sherwin Williams Black Friday 2024 Sale

I bought a few gallons of SW Emerald on the recent 40% sale last month to paint our bedroom and finally used it this weekend.

I really like SW Emerald. It applies well with a brush and roller and evenly. The coverage per liter is not as good as the BM Regal Select, but the price difference is 40% cheaper ($65 + tax for the SW Emerald (reg $110) and $95 + tax for the BM Regal Select and $110 + tax). Ora liver) more than makes up for it.

If SW continues these sales, the rest of my house will be painted SW Emerald instead of BM Regal Select.

I personally went with Cabot because it’s cheaper, petroleum based, and easier to apply. Expect 1-2 years before reapplying. But since it’s an oil, I think it’s more of a filler than a full recovery. I stage it in the winter to reduce exposure. Also note that my quilt is not stained and is 3-4 years old which makes the process easier and my choice of Cabot.
