I asked for your favorite paint colors on Instagram and Instagram Stories and compiled over 500 responses to find the 10 best gray paint colors. My Love Of French Decor Inspired Hallway Transformation
Before diving into these ten favorite gray paint colors, I want to offer a word of warning – your home may not have the same paint color as someone else’s. I usually narrow it down to 3-4 favorite paint colors to sample, but for this post, I kept 9 of my 10 favorite paint colors (except Light Grease) so I can share them with Friend! It’s crazy how the ten colors in Grieg are actually so different (FYI, this image is a bit blurry, but I kept it like this because I think it will represent the true colors if I lighten it up):
I’ll look at each color one by one, but you can refer back to my swatch above and here are the details on the colors:
Using the LRV (light reflectance value) of each color as a guide, I’ll go from darkest to lightest. A tweaked version of my current living room paint color, Sherwin Williams Keystone Gray, with an LRV of 29 will brighten even the darkest of the 10 colors!
Our Top 5 Shades Of Greige
I’m a big fan of the new gray and it was a final candidate for our living room. It’s a very warm, neutral gray with the depth of the grays on this list. If you are looking for a color shade that is not too dark, this might be for you. .

Behr Wheat Bread is one of the new paint colors that many of you may have used. I’m not surprised that it has the same LRV as Revere Pewter since the two colors are almost identical in color intensity, but Behr Wheat Bread is definitely more beige than Revere Pewter. Reverb Pewter was voted by readers as the #1 best oil paint color and is also my favorite color. There’s no such thing as a “flawless” paint job, but the Reverb Pewter looks pretty good in this regard.

Behr’s Silver Drop is a light gray with a touch of beige for a warm feel. It’s actually gray in some places and greasy in others, which is definitely the attraction in this beautiful living room.
