Rated 5 out of 5 on Teetee and Zinnser BIN Primer. We bought houses for sale from people who used to smoke. The whole house had to be repainted, covering up the cigarette smoke and removing the smell of smoke in the process. We bought two large buckets of this Zinnser BIN Primer Sealer. Although the smell was strong and unpleasant to the eyes in the closed area, two coats covered the dirt and the smell. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to cover stubborn stains or odors. It worked wonderfully, because now when we walk into the house, it smells.

We have used two large buckets so far in this newly purchased home. The house was covered in cigarette stains from former residents who smoked. When we walked in, you could smell it. After sealing the head with this product, it smells good and there is no yellow. I highly recommend it!
Rated 4 out of 5 on fatcatz by zinsser bin Primer. We use this product in our bathroom. It sealed moisture well, was light and smooth to apply, and dried quickly without being greasy. We applied 2 coats then 2 coats of new behr kitchen and bathroom paint and the finish was absolutely beautiful. My only complaint and the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the smell is strong. The smoke is strong, so use in a well-ventilated area.

All other trials have resulted in bleeding within two years, but this is not the case with this product. It’s worth the money. It is highly recommended.
The Best Primers For Painting Furniture (and How To Choose The Right One)
Rated 4 out of 5 by busymothertoronto. It is not as good as advertised. I admit that I have never tried another product. I bought this product specifically because it said it would cover graffiti. The walls were covered in Sharpies of all kinds because of the crazy kids. I started scrubbing the walls with alcohol and baking soda to get the worst of it off, but it took three coats of this primer in some areas to completely cover the writing. I was surprised at how much weight I had lost. I expected the thick water to completely cover the walls. I read it well because at the end of the day the work was done. And I’m not kidding when I say there is a good atmosphere in the house. After applying the coat, I felt weak and opened the window and turned on the fan.
For almost 25 years, I have rated this product 5 out of 5 on ddogg every time I use it. I tried water-based zinsser, but it doesn’t always work. This shellac-based product guarantees a single coat of paint on all colors. I use this stuff in the spray booth, like when I’m making living room cabinets and fixing them. Since this is a professional product, it may have an unpleasant smell. It dries quickly and you can apply lacquer-based paint in 30 minutes. It’s definitely worth it.
Works’ Amby rated it 4 out of 5, but be very careful. It has been reviewed on YouTube as one of the best primers for floors and unsanded laminate surfaces under latex or ‘chalk’ paint. Like shellac primer, it has a short curing time but is very difficult to work with. The mask may not be enough and if I use this again I will definitely use a respirator. Cover the area you are working on well. This is because if a drop of water falls in an unexpected place, even quick action may fail to get it off. Primer that ties fast and strong! Under latex paint still needs time to cure and although it may seem dry until fully cured, it can scratch or chip easily.

Top Notch’s WoodEye rated it 5 out of 5 stars. This is the best primer sealer I have ever used. It’s the only product I’ve found that can seal wood knots perfectly, and if it can seal wood knots, it can seal anything. It might be a little expensive compared to other brands, but it’s worth it. I highly recommend it.

Hi Iann, For popcorn ceilings with watercolors, I recommend the Zinsser Odorless Oil-Based Primer. That’s because this primer is applied directly to the popcorn and allowed to dry for a clean finish. There is no need to use a top coat afterwards.

Does this BIN Shellac Primer work well on plastics? I am going to make a plastic round bed in my bathroom.
It worked well for my plastic covered crowns. Spraying is recommended as shellac dries quickly and leaves brush marks.
Hi, good question! The BIN Shellac-based Ultimate Performance Primer is ideal for pine trees. This primer is not recommended for exterior use or deck/floor/siding applications.

It seems to work, but I suggest you try it first. It doesn’t take long to apply the primer blank and let it dry. When it dries, you can remove it with your fingers.
