Dealership sources have already seen the new pickup behind closed doors and told the publication that the new Nissan Frontier will have a new design that will be radically different from the current Frontier. It is expected to take inspiration from the Warrior design seen on the new Nissan Titan, which means it will be much more aggressive and sharp.
2021 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x Release Date
While the new Frontier is expected to ride on an updated version of the current model’s platform, sources say it will ride on a shortened and modified Titan chassis. A recent report said the new Frontier will be powered by a 3.5-liter gasoline V6, but Autoblog’s sources say it will use a new 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 3.8-liter engine matches the engine displacement of the GT-R, but that’s probably where the similarities end. A nine-speed automatic is also available as the Titan’s version of the transmission. Power is expected to be around 300 horsepower, which will be a nice improvement over the current V6 inline-four, which makes 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque.
