We are currently in the process of renovating our new home which needs a lot of work. I love planning and design, but it takes a lot of work, so I’m going to write the progress of my first home improvement project – my findings, experiences, tips and advice. Lately I’ve had beige walls, pink walls, and gray walls, but I finally think I’m ready to try different types of white. Any home inspiration I pull these days has white walls, so despite my fear of making the wrong choice, I’m going to be brave and go for it. I will be using white throughout the house, including the bathrooms and kitchen cabinets. I know it makes all the other colors in the room pop.

After hours of research, I’ve narrowed my choice down to four colors – white being my favourite. They’re all from Benjamin Moore, because research tells me it’s best to use a good paint from Ber or Valpar (from Home Depot and Lowe’s, respectively).

I used both colors for my selection process and found the Benjamin Moore colors to be soft with good coverage. Behr felt “watered down” compared to Benjamin Moore. I’m no expert, but even I could tell the difference.

As many DIY blogs will tell you, all white “looks” like canned white, but when you put them on the wall, they look completely different with different colors.

In addition, there are many variations with white tones. Just to name a few, you have neutral white, bright white, soft white, warm and cool white, diamond white, true white, pure white, cloudy white and the list goes on. continues from these sub-options. And don’t get me started on the different types of finishes – glossy, semi-gloss, matte, etc.

To complicate matters further, paint colors take on all different tones under different lighting conditions, time of day, and color of light (ie warm light, artificial light, fluorescent light) used in the room.

This is the third time I’ve chosen a solid color for my home (the first time I used light browns, the second time I used light grays) and I find that the recommended colors are – bloggers and other decorators are often the ones that I won. don’t finish I use number 2 or 3 on my list.

So this is my result after two days of color swatches and hours of painting, researching and more painting.

Benjamin Moore Simply White

It has a nice warmth to it that I like. It looks all white out of the box, but once it’s on the wall, it feels great. In bright rooms, it looks true white. In dark rooms, it takes on a blue or gray color. Not so white

I usually prefer cool colors to warm colors, so I was excited to try this color, but it looked a little gray on my walls. It’s muddy and not too complicated. To me it looks softer than it is

It has cool sounds. I think it’s a great color for decor, windows, doors, ceilings and modern, small spaces.

I’m actually thinking of using this color for the ceiling, walls and trim to match.

Talking About Paint

Because it feels warm and looks better than the individual. After some experimentation in choosing paint colors, I find that using the hose often gives the best results. So when in doubt, go with your gut!

My only concern is that it has a yellow tint in some parts of the house (like the kitchen), but it looks great throughout the house. I don’t want to use different shades of white, but I want to find the perfect white that works in different rooms.

(*I don’t know how those Pinterest and Instagram moms keep the walls white and clean with older kids. I have a hard time keeping up and spend more time cleaning than most moms.)

For lighting, LRV (Light Reflectance Value) measures the percentage of light reflected from a surface. It is often used by architects and helps to indicate the level of gloss and brightness of colors.

Benjamin Moore’s website says this color is very similar to Mountain Peak White, which sounds like a good option to check out! It’s also close to Cloud White, Chantilly Lace and Benjamin Moore White Dove if you’re looking for more color swatches.

This color is a good choice to paint the walls and decorate the same color in the room. A simple color contrast makes all the difference in making this color stand out.

You can also use regular white ceiling paint to make sure this color reads slightly white in your space. When combined with true, simple white on the ceiling, it helps to show that Simply White really is the color white.

Since this color is a good decoration color, it can be very difficult to combine it with another white decoration color without clashing and mismatching. My suggestion? Try it in plain white
