Benjamin Moore Wood Stain Colors Interior – I found you on Pinterest. Great boards. I’ve been looking for the best neutral wall color with colored trim and I found you again!

I’m desperate Contractors are coming on Monday to repair all the damage from the many hellish Massachusetts winters. The tree is primarily a medium-sized oak from a Victorian house in Brooklyn, New York, built in 1880.

My husband and I are getting a divorce, but I’m staying here and I want to make this place my own. Finally!

And no, it’s not because we fought over whether to paint the stained wood or leave it stained.

I read another post you wrote about painted wood and laughed because it sounds like my soon-to-be husband; What’s your name? The group? hahaha! Too much, Laurel!

I actually liked the woodcut of this old lady and many people told me it would be a mistake. But I want to make this place amazing. And BTW, I’m feeling very inspired by some of your recent posts, especially the one the other day about Laura painting her music room, Jack Pine.

Another thing is that when the contractor offered to paint all the wood paneling I almost sold out. That made the whole thing more than double the cost. I can not!

It’s just that the walls are yellow, which is really not me, and it doesn’t look that great with those wood panels. But I want to feel uplifted here.

So I have my Benjamin Moore fan boards, and if you can, maybe highlight some of the best colors to make my painted tree sing!

In this post, we’ll look at a few things about stained glass window coverings and discuss some colors. And then I created a board for you with 16 of my favorite colors that look great with wood paneling.

And then I put a small sample of wood next to the shavings on the board to see how they look together. More on that later.

How do you know if you should keep stained wood or paint it?

That’s a great question, and here’s how I feel about it. Most of the time, it’s just a matter of preference.

But sometimes the painted cover does not need to be painted because the architect intended to paint it. He is also a legend, just like the famous and deceased Frank Lloyd Wright. And if you paint its beautiful oak, it will leave the grave and give you a big slap on the wrists with its architectural scale!

If you live in a house built by Frank Lloyd Wright, painting over painted wood would be like putting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. (Leonard would probably like that.) ;]

Your Best ‘no Fail’ Neutral Paint Colors (or Not…)

The same is true of many architectural styles, such as Arts and Crafts, AKA Craftsman Style, and sometimes Style Shingle. There were and still are some Craftsman style houses.

And I’ve actually softened my stance (a bit) on painted wood trim, and here’s why.

First off, trim, if you don’t already know, is anything made of wood, including window and door casings, crown molding, baseboards, stair railings, moldings, paneling, and cabinetry. Oh, and sometimes it’s coffered or ceiling beams.

Below is the New York Brownstone. Happy dogs! I have seen these houses with wood stained and painted like below. I prefer it painted in this case, but I’ve seen some beautiful rooms like this with painted wood paneling that look great.

What’s The Difference Between Stains?

He is another Artisan from an architectural firm that I have long admired. There is no stained glass decoration except for the door. And it’s a legitimate design decision. Typically, in the 19th and 18th centuries, doors were painted a rich chestnut color and were not painted.

Well, okay. You are correct. These are old craftsman houses. While I appreciate them, it wouldn’t be my priority.

If you have something like this and want to paint it, I have no problem. If you need to keep the painted wood paneling, that’s great too.

It’s true. If you live in a post-war wood-paneled house, you can probably paint it unless it’s an ultra-modern house. And you’ll probably need to add more moldings for interest, unless the house is completely modern.

I find the first one sad. But it should also be remembered that relatively ordinary painted rooms will not come fully alive until the furniture is brought back inside.

Below is a great example of an old house that is getting more and more colorful with wood paneling and beautiful paint.

A color you might not have considered, but looks great with stained wood, is a warm, rich red like Benjamin Moore RACING ORANGE – 2169-10

In fact, many colors in the orange family look great with wood paneling. Here is a post full of vibrant orange color.

I think so. However, I prefer the more classic moldings that Gil Shaffer had on his magnificent brownstone.

You should probably consult a professional, but you may be able to go further than that. You cannot lighten stained wood, but it is sometimes possible to create a deeper, richer color.

There is a product from Minwax called Polyshades. It’s a vein and a cop. It may take two or three coats, but it can be worth it to get the wood looking nice again. However, if you can’t afford a professional, I would experiment first.

He didn’t use tinting, but other techniques that didn’t require a full finish. You can read about it in the link below the first image.

In fact, most colors are acceptable. Cool colors with gray always look good. Most of the colors in the Laurel Home Paint collection are bright, wood-stained.

It’s a bad photo, but a room with the right wall color can be very nice.

Another great wood paneling color is purple dark brown. But not PURPLE! One of my favorites is ELEPHANT GRAY 2109-50. It’s a sophisticated color, and the less contrasting shade looks elegant with the midtone stained wood.

Of course. Why not? That’s really cool. If you are not familiar with the above blog, check it out. Her house is full of wooden decorations and it’s cooler than any cold room like the one above!

Brown and black with a black ceiling! Sure if I had only one house I would never do it, but if I had 2 or 3 houses I would definitely do it!

The pale blue-gray color is a refreshing change with this rich mahogany trim. I love it with a braided rod, which brings formality in a refreshing way.

Please note that these are approximate colors as this is a stain and depending on the color of the individual pieces, the color may vary quite a bit.

Some of these wood colors are of course interchangeable. But I think some combinations are particularly beautiful.

Ahh… here’s the problem. I say this because the color of the walls and decorations should not be considered alone.

For Laura, her starting point was the wooden ornaments and the organ. She instinctively knew that to make everything work together, she needed a strong color.
