Chelsea Gray Exterior House Paint – Did you think I was going to be over this problem after Part 4? No, my friend. It’s just that easy!
If you’ve been following along, you might remember that we launched our gray shades at Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal, Benjamin Moore Chelsea Grey, and Sherwin-Williams Gauntlet Grey. The two BM colors appear to be more grayish-gray, while the SW Gantlet Gray is slightly warmer, compared to the gray-brown.

In an effort to look at more options and try to find something lighter than Kendall Gray, but darker than Chelsea Grey, I decided to get a special sample of Kendall Charcoal at 75%. You can see this compared to the original Kendall Charcoal in the image below. (I still have the SW Westchester gray below that was never repainted in the first round of color samples. But it’s not used because it’s a bit blue/cool toned).

Is there a very noticeable difference? I was pleasantly surprised by the color reduction effect at 25% Kendall charcoal. I commissioned this unique piece at Sherwin-Williams, although it was originally painted by Benjamin Moore. This is because we are probably using SW SuperPaint externally and I wanted to make sure that the model was an accurate representation of where we would end up buying the paint).
And around the corner from the house here are three different Benjamin Moore paints for further comparison. I dig Kendall Charcoal 75%, and Chelsea Gray is another favorite. This is the first time I wanted to find a common paint color, but it can respond to our desire to match our house with a gray color.

Chelsea Gray Hc 168
Chelsea Gray is definitely a gray color. However, when such a gray color reaches this depth, it is often called “charcoal”.
Although you wouldn’t know it unless you compared it to a cool gray color, Chelsea Gray is a WICKED gray color!
In a room with northern light, you can expect Chelsea Gray to look gray. But in a room with a strong southern or western sun, you will see some warmth emanating from this beautiful shade of gray!
Of The Best Benjamin Moore Gray Paint Colors
Chelsea Gray has an LRV of 22, which puts her at the END of gravity of medium height (more info HERE).
Chelsea Gray is a medium deep color and will therefore last well in a dark room but needs a little light to liven it up. If you have a room that is too bright, the depth of Chelsea Gray will be a very calming space without looking too bright or overwhelming.

Sweet Chaos Home: Choosing Exterior Paint Colors Help Wanted!
Remember, all grays are understated and Chelsea Gray is no exception! Chelsea Gray prefers a warm undertone, green-brown, and rarely blue, although it can rarely appear slightly purple.
To paint with all the colors, I recommend using a MODEL. Samplize is a bark and wood paint sampler that you can easily get in your living room for more than half a container – and have it delivered to your door!
Chelsea Gray is super flexible with a wide range of whites. If you’re painting your tables or cabinets, consider the soft look of Benjamin Moore’s White Dove and Sherwin Williams Pure White, although the clean approach of Sherwin Williams High Reflective White can also be great.
Stunning Exterior Paint Colors
Chelsea Gray can do very well abroad; just remember that it may seem hotter than expected, especially if you have a southern, western or southern sunset. And don’t forget the green sub!
HECK EVEN, Chelsea Gray is one of Benjamin Moore’s best reads in this area. And while Sherwin Williams Dovetail and Gauntlet Gray are the most popular right now, Chelsea Gray will always have its place.

Chelsea Gray is a great color for kitchen cabinets, islands or bathroom cabinets. However, make sure that the fabric, back and floor are all necessary to support the height and underneath of the Chelsea Grey. In general, the above-mentioned colors are more abundant.
