When our customers want a pure white color that isn’t warm, the choice is easy – we recommend Snowbound by Sherwin-Williams. We love white tones that go well with accents like the navy blue door and contrast well with warm tones like the tiled roof.

Best White Paint Colors For Brick Exteriors

One of the many reasons we love Sherwin-Williams is that they clearly list the LRV value (LRV) for each color on the back of their cards and on their website. Snowbound’s LRV is 83, so it reflects less light than other white options. However, this is ideal for homes in sunnier environments, as some paints with an LRV of close to 100 can look blinding during the day.

If you want a simple white paint but want a color that goes further, Sherwin-Williams’ Repose Gray is a good choice. This gray is so light it’s almost white and is warmer than most grays. We love rainy and snowy days when this color looks grey. But when the sun is shining or the leaves are changing, it looks a little brighter. In general, we love a nice, subtle color like Repose Grey.

Urbane Bronze from Sherwin-Williams is a beautiful color, if we do say so ourselves. It’s more than just a gray color, it’s a two-in-one neutral color that combines gray and brown together. Again, we love a complementary color and we love that Urban Bronze can sometimes look like charcoal or sometimes black, depending on the day. Urban Bronze looks great in homes with traditional wood accents, like a cedar fence or a walnut door.

Brick And Paint Color Combinations That We Just Love

We decided to add an additional color palette showcasing our best paint colors with Sherwin-Williams. Shoji White has its own list of Sherwin-Williams favorite colors because it’s the perfect warm combination of beige and gray. However, Urban Bronze takes it to the next level. If you are lucky enough to find a house with a dark metal door, these two colors will highlight that advantage. The warm tones in Shoji White and Urban Bronze work together.

Affordable beige is a beautiful exterior color, so it’s a great choice if you’re preparing your home for sale. This earth tone looks great in all types of homes, but we especially love the brick look. Maybe the warm weather that gives a little wink to the original color of the bricks is over for us. An affordable beige looks good with charcoal or brown, depending on the home.

Just like white, it’s very easy to choose a black color that’s too harsh. For this reason, we often recommend Black Fox by Sherwin-Williams if you want to go dark. You can actually classify this black as a gray color. It is in the same color family as Repose Grey, but is darker. This color makes a good accent for details like red shutters or a yellow door. We like Black Fox for the front door color as well.

Best Painted Brick Houses Of 2022

Alabaster by Sherwin-Williams reads as creamy and warm, not cool and light. This white has an LRV of 82, similar to Snowbound in light intensity. But unlike Snowbound, Alabaster is decidedly warmer in tone. When you put a dusty blue door and gray curtains on Alabaster, you get the charm of a European home.

Another good example we note is visual acuity. Contrasting color combinations are popular, combining materials and messages in home design. Also, giving a modern twist to traditional home styles by using random dark colors – especially in the warm color family – a sustainable energy process.

Comfort and durability, a balance of form and function and houses with character are what we value now because the idea of home is more important.

Not to be confused with the Benjamin Moore color of the same name, Alabaster by Sherwin Williams is a soft, warm white that is versatile in its use. Ideal for use with a variety of materials including natural wood, stone, brass and bronze.

Want white with just a touch of light? Snow is a good choice. His LRV of 83 is just one point higher or closer to pure white than Alapasa. This is also a soft white color, but its tones are more creamy pink than the beige color of Alabassa. You don’t want to use it with anything too dark, beige or brown. It goes well with marine accents, dark charcoal gray and clay roofs.

Moving away from pure white leads to another Sherwin Williams paint color of the year: Shoji White. This is another warm white. Its LRV of 74 will help you avoid strong pure white light; however, it can be found near bright white in a sunny environment. The picture above is shown against the cold white of the snow, which helps bring out its beige and gray color. It has a white border, but is lighter than gray. Shoji White is one of our designers’ favorite colors to use alongside Urbane Bronze (which may or may not have made this list…).

Exterior Paint Palettes To Suit Every Style Of Home

We’re going to do this in a different way. The beautiful design of today’s country houses has become a hot topic, and Extra White is as clean as it gets. The name of the correct paint color is based on the maximum LRV of 86.

We love when Extra White is used for different types and together with different features, such as the ceiling, windows and lights in the design above. Aren’t copper pipes cool too? The door and ceiling are in Sherwin Williams Passive, a neutral gray.

We called at the end of last year and our foundation before the sign returns at the end of 2019: We see the return of beige. The affordable beige is warm but not yellow…more gray than gold. It’s warm, dirty and beautiful with natural wood. Looks great in brick too!

House Painting Color Change

Another light color for those who don’t want white or white is this neutral gray color. Repose Gray is a dreamy base color built on the use of charcoal or rich brown materials such as black walnut and bronze metal.

This black paint color is a good choice for painting your entire house, like the first example above, or it can create a beautiful contrasting color for one design element, like the top of the balcony above. Iron Ore falls between Kendall Charcoal and Soot (both by Benjamin Moore) in terms of darkness. It has LRV 6, so it’s obviously dark. Its warm tones help coordinate with things that have a lot of brown in them: stone, mulberry, bronze, copper and, of course, wood.

Our other recommendation is the black exterior paint, Tricorn Black, which is a slightly darker gray than Iron Ore. It’s also darker than Onyx by Benjamin Moore, one of our favorites. Its low LRV is 3. This color is deep
