Now I’ll show you what I did in our house! Just as Los Angeles and New Orleans are very different from each other, so are the homes my friend and I share in each city. The houses have a completely different look with advantages and disadvantages. For example, our house in L.A. It is a little on the small side, but it has a very open plan, which is great if a small space feels too big, but that can be deceiving. How to better define and connect different positions.

One of my favorite design ways to turn an open floor plan into a well-defined space is with color. She will know that I like to paint my house! I love to play and mix colors and I can never turn down bold shades. As I watch our L.A. Starting to update the home, I am excited to collaborate with BEHR and choose from their full collection of must have colors. We want our Los Angeles patio to be a gathering place for our friends and family to eat, drink and hang out, so it’s important that every area is equally welcoming, but for our dinner parties (you know the common space is the our new patio. ) We want to create a room for bold and wonderful food.

How To Choose The Right Paint Colors For Your Kitchen

I started laying out my BEHR Essentials: Deep Teal (Underwater), Kelly Green (Grassland), Light White (Bear Polar), Green (Copper Patina), and Sun Yellow (Groove Yellow). BEHR also has a really useful tool on their website where you can use different paint colors on different walls in different rooms to see how they look in your space. It is very interesting.

My original intention was to try to use all the paint colors in my palette, but I may have bitten off more than I could chew! I used Underwater in a satin finish to define the dining room because I thought it was so elegant but so surprising because it’s pink. When it comes to finishing, satin is the standard for all rooms. It has a soft glow. It’s just easier to maintain. Mid-century furniture and accessories line the walls. In contrast, I used a copper patina on the wall of the bedroom, which makes it feel light, calm and comfortable – what about all those vibrations in his room? Then I painted the grass on the door in the gloss section, and I was happy to see how the shadow of the green grass came out. Although it was white, it made a good color for the ceiling, as it matches all the spaces.

But here’s the thing with paint, even if you think you’ve chosen the perfect color after trying it, it could be completely different. I decided that painting the entire living room in a copper patina competed with the dining room, so I painted the living room bare white. It’s a really nice, simple and clean white that just exudes warmth.

A good way now. Darker and deeper tea colors need white to allow them to breathe. I added a chandelier and dining chairs that are heavy. This might be my favorite room!

The Top 10 Best Neutral Paint Colors For Your Home

Here is the bedroom in copper patina. I think it looks really good in this photo, but it still needs some contrast.

And bam! I was looking for an accent wall here to do in this room, so I chose dark jade and I love it! Add a touch of color to the dining room.

The answer was more detailed and relevant than I expected! I splurged on dark brown pieces, like the rug in the kitchen, and a pillow in the bedroom to match. With the adjustability and added nature that these BEHR colors provide, I am more than happy to have fun in every detail. I recommend playing with paint if you have any problems at home – or even if you don’t! It’s a great way to work with color; The possibilities are endless. And it’s great for drawing and painting. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the right color, like the front door for example. Our house in New Orleans has a green door and it looks so nice that I wanted to bring it home to LA and after a while, it didn’t sit well with me, so I painted it yellow (BEHR Yellow Groove)!
