Whether it’s true or not, I feel like a pink nail polish artist right now. I’m a manicurist through and through and I don’t feel like myself without painted nails. I make mine myself, so it’s not a small thing, but I really try to polish them many times. When my mother grew up, my mother used to watch me and my younger sister every Sunday night while she was doing her thing, and it became our routine. And when we were old enough to make our own, we sat around the kitchen table pulling out all the glitter…my poor dad, huh! Although my taste has changed over the years (I was *very* into chunky glitter and baby blue polish for a while), I’ve always loved pink.

But really, pink nail polish is the BEST nail polish to get right and make it look fresh.

I think you have to try many shades to find the right pale pink for your skin tone. Especially if you have fair skin like me. Usually the pinks are too peachy or have a yellow tone that makes my hands, for lack of a better word, sick. So I try to find shades that complement the skin tone, not the competition. Again, my skin has pink undertones…so that could be the problem.
I know it sounds cheesy and I might be exaggerating, but when you’re looking at your hands all day typing, cooking, crafting, etc., you want them to feel good, you know?! So today I’m sharing my top 5 pink nail polishes with you because someone needs pink nail polish in their life. It also goes without saying, but all of these glosses are really good quality and I can easily get 7+ days out of them. So if you want to try a new Polish brand, they are all fantastic!
This famous baby pink polish is good for me. I love the pink color that the two coats give. Such a great find.
This is one of my favorites; it is a dusty brown. I like how you look. Very nice.

I love the new line of Persona and this color does not disappoint. It is a warmer pale pink that is opaque. It’s definitely on the white side, but it’s really nice live.
It is a very opaque pale pink with blue undertones. If you want an “almost white” polish with a touch of pink, this is the color for you.
This is my most worn color so far. I think I’m on my fourth (maybe fifth) bottle. This is definitely my favorite. I just love baby pink and it’s so nice and clean. I also recommend using three coats over this if you want a more opaque look. I’ve been using baby pink nail polish lately and have a few favorites that I love and want to share with you! So many of my favorite light pink shades are drawn from Chanel and Dior. Rescue Beauty Lounge also does the best pale pinks (how sad if they’re gone!). Here are my current favorites!
Sand Pink in Olive and June ($8, available in Olive and June) – This is a very creamy pale and opaque pink, use 2 thin coats for full coverage. (If you want something less white down, try Olive and June SE.)

OPI Bubble Bath ($10-$10.50, Target and Ulta) – I also discovered this in early summer. I remember not liking it until I thought it was just plain hard to make the color. I tried again and if I use 2-3 layers, I get a perfect pink colored nail.
Gucci Beauty Ellen Blush ($30, Nordstrom, Sephora, Gucci) – I just ordered some new nail polishes from Gucci. It has a full opaque coverage in one purchase, but I still want to wear 2. Ellen blush is the perfect medium light pink for me.
Essie Fiji ($8.99 at Target) – Depending on the skin tone or inner tone, this is hit or miss. It is a cool blue toned pale pink with full coverage. It has a small brush that I wish they would update. I think this is a classic pale pink for me.
Essie Muchi Muchi ($8.99 Target) – Muchi Muchi is a medium pale pink on me. It’s not as bright as most lighter pinks, which makes it sweeter for me.

Essie Gel Couture Bright and Poised ($11.50, Ulta) – a recent find for me, I love that this is a really pretty light in medium neutral pink that has full coverage without too much white in it. I rested. in the Department blog recently. I apologize for that. I was left with building a new cut flower garden. It’s a great project and it’s going well, apart from fighting bugs and critters! Nail Enamel 077 Light Pink
I often have problems with darkness when I use bright opaque colors with too much white pigment. Especially if the nails are rough.
One of the colors in this collection, Joanie, can be a little patchy. Three to four thin coats of varnish will solve the problem. Shiny artificial nails also solve the problem!
People with nail brushes should always use Zoya Get Ani to prime the nails and create a glossy canvas to begin with.
For the swatches in this post, I used 2 to 4 coats of Zoya Naked Manicure Base, depending on the color, and finished it all off with Zoya Ultra Glossy Seal.

Angel is a cool shimmery color that looks beautiful as a top coat on its own. Contains pink, evergreen and gold microglitters to create a shimmering finish. Use 3-4 coats to create a strong metallic finish. Use 1 coat over any color as a top coat for special effects.
Joanie is a beautiful brunette. It has a very bright and beachy white pink look! I find that such a pigmented pink color can look a little patchy, but it looks absolutely amazing if you take your time and apply 3-4 thin coats for a nice solid finish.
Maddy is a cool creamy pink. It creates a similar beach look to Joanie, but it has more pink, which makes it softer. I like to use three thin coats for a nice solid finish.

Shannon is a creamy medium hot pink that looks beautiful on most skin tones. Two coats provide an even nicer coverage. This is another shade that looks beautiful on most skin tones.
Kay is a hot pink color. Two coats will give you good coverage. It’s a sweet pink that’s perfect for summer. I love it for my toes!
