Rated 2 out of 5 by JoshC from This works as intended. We applied this product to untreated, slightly weathered wood (Siberian spruce) after cleaning it with an all-over cleaner – in one go. The cleaner did a great job. The oil product was very easy to use with the board, it was a pleasure to work with, and the tools were easy to clean. It lasted for several days. We let it sit until it was very dry. At first we were pleased with the results – the wood color is enhanced but retains its natural look with less shine; and well-balanced water. However, after a few weeks of wear, the pearls disappeared and a gray look began. Also, because the oil is extracted, it is difficult for us to clean the wood properly. Dirt seems to stick to the surface more. Maybe the wood needs another coat so the oil can work better? Maybe we’ll use another layer and see how that works.

After the first winter the paint lost some of the gloss and where I applied a thicker coat the gloss remained. A second coat brought back the original shine. It’s now after the third winter and I’m looking south and the 20 yard fence took less than 3 cups to cover it and it reappeared. Looking north, it looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MaxNPV: Excellent product. I used it on my deck last summer because I wanted a product that would protect the wood but didn’t require sanding for storage or reuse. It did a great job of rehydrating and still works well after a hard winter of ice and snow.

It looked great, but in the spring the whole place started to get wet, which never happened before. In the wood grain he sat back and began to peel the bark. The wood looks like it’s protected from the rain, but it looks dangerous, not a good product.

The product is very thin and has a slight smell. However, it is worth it because the result speaks for itself. I sent him to the cedar shed by the lake. The shed was put up last fall and has not been protected from the elements this winter. I primed the Burr directly and scraped/sanded some of the finer areas. It shined directly on the tree. Sarai absorbed the fat well, but was thirsty. I hope it will result in less results in future applications. This castle is by the lake, so I wonder how it will hold up! Next comes the cedar sauna.

A very thirsty 10-year-old fence was sprayed with just one coat. Absorbs and provides rich, deep, natural color. It won’t look like paint, so I expect it to last for several years.

We used non-refined Graco material to make the fence. Need to experiment with peak and pressure to avoid fumes? Having a second man behind the fence saved time and kept the air smoke from decorating the buildings. The sprayer uses a lot of product, but did a great job on the 15 year old dry fence. Coolant may leak or smoke. Please note that this product will be thick when cold and thin when warm. Therefore, before use, pay attention to the temperature at which the product is stored if you want to achieve consistent results. (I’m no expert, but this was our experience)

Hi JoanL YVR, Thanks for your question. Each gallon of our wood covers approximately 250-300 square feet. feet so a 5 gallon bucket should cover approximately 1250-1500 square feet. We recommend using mineral spirits for cleaning and sanitizing foot application tools. It is difficult to say how long you should wait for your stain to re-apply, as it is a product of weathering itself and it depends on the elements present in your area, so I recommend a water test. a year or two to see if your finish protects the tree.
