I usually use the word “kaso” to describe a pen, but cute fits this pen. A decent looking pen at a low price is usually something you find in a Chinese pen (Baoer, Hero, etc.), so this one from Pilot is amazing (in a good way, way).

After taking a closer look at the pen, some things caught my attention and others less. The covered pen looks solid, sleek and compact. Even with the gold note, the black center band makes the design stand out rather than seeming to distract from the design. In addition, the possibility of nine appearances is very impressive. (There are three colors of the matte body: black, silver, and gold; and there are three colors of the middle band: plain, zig-zag, and polka dots.) All I can say is that the zig-zag middle band is a painting, but it looks good. and a bit sketchy (that’s why I chose it).
The part that didn’t impress me when I reviewed the pen had to do with the design of the grip section. Compared to the rest of the pen, it looks and feels cheap, although I can say that it is a hard plastic, probably the same material that Pilot Penmanship, Plumix and Pluminix are made of. A hat is good, even if it is loose, but it is firmly attached to the body. I don’t really worry about removing it. The Gold Metropolitan had one where I went to remove the cup and the barrel was separated in the middle of the group, but maybe it was because of the lack of glue as my black Metropolitan did not have this problem. . I think it shows how tightly the cap is attached to the case, although removing the cap is not difficult. I think some metal objects (like keys) might scratch the case, but I haven’t tried it (intentionally or not). That said, scratching is a potential problem with almost every pen I own, so it’s not a big factor in this review.
Thank you Pilot for using your food design and nib size, making it easy for us to have more options even if you don’t give them this pen! The medium round nib that comes with the Metropolitan is very similar to my Lamy nib in terms of width and smoothness. The nib also has a graphic design, something aviators lack in cheaper pens like Penmanship, Plumix, and Pluminix. The markings are less visible than the Pilot Custom series nibs, but the presence is surprising given the lack of marking on the Pilot Prera nibs (that I’ve seen). I used the center round for a while and switched to the Plumix stem, so I like the flexibility. On the same note, I would also like to mention how easy this change is, even for those who do not know how to write well, since there is only one way / place where the nib can be placed. was placed to feed.

While I can’t speak to the use of Metropolitan’s Pilot CON-20, CON-50, or CON-70 converters, this pen does have a converter and accepts Pilot’s own cartridges. I think the cartridges can hold less ink than a replacement, and given the durability of the cartridges, cleaning and using them is an easy task. The converter that comes with the Metropolitan is not very impressive from a decorative point of view, but since this pen is not a show, the appearance of such a converter does not matter.
