A beautiful gray is Sherwin Williams’ neutral (and popular) gray, and French Gray looks like an understated neutral.
Sherwin Williams Repose Gray has a deeper tone. The color is more brown/grey, but generally a bit darker in color. Gray French Pale seems to lean more towards the true gray side.
Not really. Contrary to the name Behr’s version of Light French Gray has many shades of blue. In some lighting, Sherwin Williams Light French Gray may have a blue tint, but it’s certainly not as blue as the Behr version.

What color is Sherwin Williams Light French Gray? Is gray warm or cool?
Light French Gray is a beautiful stormy cool gray; But that doesn’t mean ICY is cool just because the depth seems better.
Ways To Make Your Kitchen Look More Custom
If you have north facing light. You’ll see a cool French gray design that’s enhanced by blue-berry lighting from the windows. On the other hand, If your room faces south or has a hot sun in the west. A light French gray can provide a balance to these warm rays.
Light French Gray has an LRV of 53, making it a light to medium black color. This deep color will look better in a very bright room, and a color with a high LRV can be dull. However, this LRV is a bit heavy and white if you have a dark room. White and light colors (higher LRV) can reflect more light around.

It can be done. If the sun is strong in front of your house. The LRV of Light French Gray is much better than the high LRV (which can fade). Make sure the exterior features (stone/brick/roof/etc…) match the light French gray shade, which can look more festive in some displays.
Light French Gray is not very popular these days, but it is because of its depth. Although homeowners may be looking for a lighter way to choose a gray color for their walls, that doesn’t mean it can’t be the perfect gray for you.
