Although we are no longer living in our house that we bought earlier this year (love the rental life), I am taking advantage of this opportunity. Got some blog ideas that are still on my to do list. I thought I’d write a list of our interior paint colors, including my favorite color white, so here we go!
When it comes to color, it seems to be a division. You are either Team Sherwin Williams (SW) or Team Benjamin Moore (BM). Note that there are other colors such as Valspar, Out, Farrow and Ball, etc., but our designers only use Sherwin Williams. It also helps that there is a SW store near us and the staff is always helpful. All in all, I have had a great experience using Sherwin Williams (not a guarantee, just my honest opinion) and I will probably continue to use Sherwin.

We painted our entire house SW white, including the ceiling. This is my favorite white color of all time. Not too yellow, not hard, but just right. We have a lot of sun, with a little darkness in our basement and the white looks good in every room, regardless of the lighting. Well, we chose white for our new home!
White is a difficult choice, especially when you’re designing a home and can’t find a color scheme in place. Believe me, white is good white.
Case Study: Green Gray Exterior Paint Colors
One question I have is what color do you paint your boat? We use Prime Shiplap in our living room (pictured above) and our bedroom (below). In both cases, we painted Shiplap SW white to match the walls.
Moving into our kitchen and pantry, my all-time favorite is our Gregg toy. I don’t know the exact color (gasp), but it looks like SW shiteak. Again, trust me. Shitaki is a beautiful color! However, let me just tell you, these boards are a chameleon. They look pale blue in the morning and more natural gray in the afternoon and evening. There’s nothing wrong with that, but something you know can do with the color gray.
Before you ask, yes, our closet is the same color as our kitchen. In the pictures, our closet looks red, but I think that’s because there is no natural light in this area. Pink backsplash doesn’t help.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram for over a year, you probably followed when we installed a shiplap accent wall in our office. I had a hard time finding the perfect gray color so I created a custom color by mixing SW Worldly Gray and SW Pure White. I think 85/15 mixed with a lot of SW International Gray was used. I may have to use the SW Sheath to get the same results. The color is very close to the color of our kitchen.
You know what I like the most? Paint the house. Huh! It’s not the best, but man, does the black ceiling transform this room. My favorite color is SW Tricorn black and I used the matte finish on the roof. If you are going to use dark color on the wall lamp, I recommend black color. I used very little and I had to put three coats on the roof, at 5 months pregnant. Going up and down the stairs was a real swim!
We went with style with our simple bathroom and chose SW Gauntlet Grey. It’s gray with dark undertones. I love it with the brass door knobs and the white floor. This is a terrible photo, taken in the morning with poor lighting, but you get the idea.
Taupe Paint Colors
Since our basement was completed earlier this year, we want to be bold and ambitious. I painted the family room and master bathroom with SW Rockwood Shutters Green. It looks black in the pictures, but it’s a dark green color. It’s so beautiful and I can’t wait to put this color in our new house. I love the sound of the shiplap wall we added and expanded. I made this beautiful wall with a fun plaid wallpaper (more on that to come).

I’m not going to lie now. If I had my way I would redo the entire kitchen but it’s not in the plan so I’ll have to send my samples to the contractor and take a look. I did a lot of small DIY but that was it. It’s my first time doing something like this and it’s been a great learning curve I’ve had a really bad stomach ache and I hope I can give you some tips to avoid it I had a headache so instead of what I did, I quit.
