Small Space Living Room Layout

Small Space Living Room Layout – One of my favorite things about design is solving problems. You know, the situation you find yourself in when you have an awkward entryway, a small space, no storage, or a unique space layout. In my case, I got all the past events in the living room. It is also a very open space. Contrary to popular opinion, I really like rooms that are not completely open, because the walls help define the purpose of the room and remind me how to plan the room. For example, I grew up in a cave – to play and watch movies with my family. Closed kitchen with enough space for table and chairs. When it’s time for dinner, we all know it’s time to put away all the utensils, go to the kitchen, sit as a family while eating and share information about the day. Our living room is a small place where my mother sits and talks on the phone with her grandmother or a friend who stops by to share news. It’s a “female cave”. We don’t have too many so mom has a place to unplug, read and sleep (I know that now). That said, I love how a feature wall can make a room feel, but I’ll knock one down if it helps the overall function of the room – that’s a post for another day.

Small Space Living Room Layout

This living room layout is one of the reasons I love open spaces. If we want to hold a movie night in this living room, there are only two ways to arrange the furniture: with a sofa spread out in the hallway, or with a sofa on the wall, we have a TV. except for those installed in the Hallway on the wall. I strongly considered not having a TV in the living room and put it in the bedroom instead, but that would go against the belief that the bedroom is the place where we find peace, to separate our thoughts from everything else. Come on, and relax. So the TV in the living room. In addition to the unique layout of the board, there is a small side, which I usually used to, has grown up in the city where the board is a unicorn. But because of the unique layout and limited space, I had to be intentional about sourcing pieces that could expand and allow for storage.

Small Living Room Layouts: 7 Interior Design Tips To Maximize Small Spaces

On the left you will see if you decide to install a TV in the hallway. This is a common setup for most neighbors. Some of my neighbors were kind enough to let me stay at their house and tour their setup. You can save a lot of time and of course money because it is free. Additionally, I scoured the internet for homes in my community that were recently renovated and for sale. I would love to see a performance at that venue. I like to do this type of visual search when I work in neighborhoods with condos or single-family homes that all have similar interior and exterior structures. I should also mention that the children’s room is located behind the wall in the hallway, so hanging the TV on the wall will disturb sleep and bedtime (my son is a very bad sleeper – just like my mother). This means we were down in the layout – the kind where the seats extend into the aisle. Which I thought was not the end of the world because I still managed to leave three feet in the aisle behind the couch.

A fun little app that I love when organizing my space and furniture is Magic Plan. It’s very easy to use and you don’t need to be a CAD expert. Although I have spent countless hours in school tutorials such as AutoCAD and Revit, I tend to outsource this work because I don’t like to spend a lot of time preparing 2D and 3D renderings. I’m still taking my mother’s hoop for God’s sake. That said, the Magic Plan is great for personal projects because you can measure with your phone by walking around the room and opening the phone on the wall. This helps you get measurements and a visual idea of how to arrange your furniture. Had to return this lot because the furniture didn’t fit. This really helps to make sure that everything in the room is the right size.

I felt it would be beneficial for the space to have a small chair instead of the part I had in our previous apartment. However, we are a family that likes to curl up and kick up our feet for movie night, so it was important that I get an ottoman to complement the couch. I have learned that separate sofas and ottomans have a bit more flexibility when it comes to creating spaces. In our case, our Sixpenny Amelia sofa can stand on its own, and the Amelia Ottoman can make a type of chair that can be left or right facing or placed in front of our window for extra seating (for example, you can see above). . It can also be used as a coffee table (just add a tray and put a drink on it). I also learned that polyfill is best for small families, as little ones like to climb up and down the furniture every day – this stuff is better than going down. I’m also tired of sinking into my old chair and trying to breastfeed – it’s a constant battle. Also, the side of the sofa is given a very different shape because my husband likes to sit there. Since we are now in Las Vegas, we decided on a medium weight linen fabric in Jasmine Rice. For the coffee table, I got a small round wooden bench so that it can be moved as needed and used as a side table next to the couch.

Small Living Room Ideas To Maximise A Tiny Space

When I have clients concerned about storage space in a small living room, I almost always recommend placing the console on a two-level shelf and mounting the TV on the wall above the media console to provide shelf space. Top I also recommend having an ottoman with a removable top that can hold things like blankets, drink trays, games, etc., but that can be a bit scary at home because we tend to keep things small. -More on the small side and believe me. Fumio Sasaki’s version of Concord Flessy. This is exactly where some of us find ourselves, where we are overwhelmed with choices, which ultimately leads to a radical decision to buy now that we usually regret later.

What I am saying is that I have to be careful how much storage I give because I want to fill it up even if I don’t need anything. I took a list of living room items we have and use regularly and determined the perfect media console for our blankets, books, and my husband’s game system and controller (which I design a lot now). I appreciate it. It has to do with aesthetics…if you have actor friends, you know what I mean). In addition, I would like to conclude this section by saying: There are many ways to design a house, taking into account the people who live in it. There is no right or wrong. It’s just the way we choose to live, keeping our values while being comfortable at home. Minimalism isn’t for everyone, but it makes me happy in my home.

Here’s the thing about not having walls… you have to define the space with other things like carpet, paint, floor lamps, or partitions. In my case, I used a carpet for this. I also like that the space feels cozy when I use the left front ottoman on the sofa, which further separates the space from the dining area. I moved the chair away from the window to make it feel a little more separate from the front door, to make the hallway feel like it’s own, and the hallway will look exactly 36 “from the wall. That way we don’t have to worry about hitting someone or something
