Superdeck Stain & Sealer Remover
Applications: New or refinished wood decks, porches, outdoor furniture, steps, railings, fences, gazebos and siding. Surface Preparation: The stain must penetrate well to be effective Make sure the surface is free of dirt, mold, loose wood fibers, peeling coatings and other foreign matter. The surface is permanent and can be dry or wet If the wood is wet, it should not feel moldy or wet Prepare previously painted or weathered surfaces by cleaning with wood cleaner Unfinished weathered surfaces are best pressure washed, but at a minimum you should scrub with a stiff bristle brush and wood bleach, then rinse with a garden hose to remove all loose or gray wood fibers. If it is necessary to remove excess wood fibers, smoothing with 60 or 80 grit sandpaper may be necessary. Pay attention! Removing old paint by sandblasting, scraping, or other means can create dust or fumes that contain lead. Exposure to dust or fumes can cause brain damage or other adverse health effects, especially in children and pregnant women. Controlling exposure to lead or other hazardous materials requires the use of appropriate protective equipment such as appropriate respirators (NIOSH approved), and proper containment and cleaning. Product Preparation: The product must be stirred or agitated before and during application If using more than one container of product, mix all containers together and mix well to ensure uniform color. Application Method: The product can be applied with brushes, rollers or a high quality roller with nylon or polyester brushes, stain or professional spray equipment. When spraying, use the lowest possible pressure necessary to achieve a reasonable spray pattern. When rolling or spraying, it is recommended to apply a back brush to ensure the product is evenly and evenly spread over the wood. This will reduce the chance of deposits or pudding on the surface and ensure proper penetration of the coating Application: The appearance of the finish will depend on the thickness and color of the wood surface Always test a small area for color first before covering the entire project Apply in small sections at a time (1-3-board) starting from one end of the board and working to the end. Use natural break points during application to avoid overlapping marks Number of Layers: Application in one layer is recommended If a second coat is required, allow it to dry for 2-4 hours before applying Application Time: 35-95°F If the wood surface is hot to the touch, or when the air or surface temperature is below 35°F, or the temperature is not expected to drop below 35°F within 24 hours.
