My way of choosing colors is to look online. I love the fact that fellow bloggers/Instagrammers/YouTubers share everything because it makes my life easier. I saw a lot of people recommend Behra Polar Bear 75 or Silky White PPU7-12 and I loved the look.
My best advice for choosing exterior colors is to remember that all exterior colors will be brighter and lighter than paint swatches. The opposite occurs with interior colors

I have a Behr representative at my local Home Depot that I talk to every time I get BEHR paint. He and I met once when we were discussing stain options… I call him Mr. Behera and he calls me Mrs. Blogger 🙂 It’s funny because every time I go to Home Depot to buy paint or stain, it’s there! It’s like he knows I’m coming and needs my input.
This time I had a great chat with him about the exterior paint scene and how matte finishes are a new trend taking modern homes by storm. I asked him if this was something I should be aware of. Matte finishes are generally not as wipeable as satin or semi-gloss and require more frequent brushing. This is because low gloss is generally not as resistant to stains and dirt. He said he liked the look, but since he was doing white it would require more cleaning (light pressure washing) so satin would be the minimum gloss. what did he want. Ultimately we decided to use BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® exterior paint in Silky White PPU7-12 with a satin enamel finish.
