Charcoal Gray Paint Benjamin Moore – Happy Monday! This is a post I’ve been wanting to share with you for a while because I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you about my colors. So here you go! These are my favorite shades of gray paint that I used throughout the house on the walls and furniture. These are all Benjamin Moore shades and my favorite paint to use.
This is the color I use the most in our house. It’s a shade of gray – in some lights it looks more gray and in others it looks more beige. This is the paint color you must sample for the space you plan to use.

The entire main living level of my house is painted Revere Pewter – living room, dining room, kitchen, upstairs and downstairs living area and hallway. A really cool medium grey.

I have a wall in my kitchen that doesn’t like Revere pewter. Because of this, I rarely share pictures of this wall. You can see the difference in this photo where the paint color looks more light brown.
Edgecombe Gray is the lightest shade next to Revere Pewter in Benjamin Moore’s color chart. In fact, the shade is lighter than Revere Pewter. I used this color on my dining room wall.
The wall was painted Edgecombe Gray and I used Revere Pewter to paint over the stamped damask, giving the wall a tonal stencil effect. I also used Edgecombe Gray to paint my upper kitchen cabinets and the outside of the corner cabinet. The upper kitchen cabinets are painted with Benjamin Moore Advance Paint.

Gray Owl has a blue/green undertone, but is still very neutral. This is what I used in our master bedroom and we also used it on the upper wall and ceiling color in our downstairs family room.
It’s easy and a nice neutral if you’re looking to use something off-white or white on your walls. I’ve seen people lighten Gray Owl by 50% to make it lighter at the paint store.
We used this gray color for the wainscoting in the lower level family room. Medium tone gray color. Since the family room is on the ground floor, we didn’t want it to be too dark because there wasn’t much natural light. However, our floors are light in this space, so we wanted the walls to contrast with them. Chelsea Gray is perfect! The space isn’t finished, but here’s a look at the gray owl on the walls with the Chelsea Gray wainscoting. (As you can see, it’s hard to get a good picture in a low level room with pot lights. But it gives you an idea of the color scheme)

It is a dark gray favorite. I used it in my living room beadboard and I use it in my office! I would describe it as black or soft charcoal.
I love Kendall Charcoal, but I don’t use it much in our house. But I use this charcoal to write most of my symbols. A beautiful charcoal gray. I haven’t painted my office yet, but if I find the nightfall shade too dark, I’ll probably use Kendall Charcoal in there. Since I haven’t used Kendall Charcoal yet, here’s a look at Room Dear Lily while using it.
This is the color I used on her lower kitchen cabinets. True black. On the cabinets, I first painted them wrought iron, but our kitchen is light green. Not the look I wanted! So, I ended up using Benjamin Moore Advance Black Paint.

Kendall charcoal makes a statement but isn’t as intense as true black. It is very versatile and allows for neutrality. This means it works well with other colors.
Iron Mountain is a warm black and brown in most natural light. This color is suitable for doors and interior trim, but can also be used on walls. It has great color, but not too dark.
The gray is a nice charcoal color that is slightly softer than true black. I have used this color on the walls for my clients and it is amazing. It has a good balance of warm and cool undertones and adds drama to any space.

If I had to pick my favorite black paint it would be wrought iron. It’s a muted black paint color that doesn’t overpower the trim, doors and cabinets. It has some warmth compared to true black.

Cheating Heart is an almost black paint color. Works well on kitchen cabinets and built-in countertops. It goes well with white countertops.
A black suit is warm and flexible. It is perfect for interior walls and will make your space look stunning without being cold.
Onyx is a very dark black paint, but it is soft. If you want drama, this is your bold color. This is the darkest of all that I have grown.

The way a color looks online, in a store, or at a friend’s house may be completely different from how it looks in your home. I recommend picking up a bunch of paint chips (those little paper paint chips) from the paint store and taking them home. Visualize your space and narrow it down to 3 colors of your choice. Then you can get real paint swatches in those colors. Looking for paint chips in your home first can help you narrow down your options and save money. Those little paint cans can add up.
The next step can be done in three ways. If you ignore the paint swatches on your walls, you can paint 3 different colors of your choice in different areas of your space. A much better option
