We used it on the stucco and columns in this house and as you can see the stucco is warmer than the bright white columns. Always take a sample of the plaster color, as the texture of the plaster is slightly colored.

Blues are still a favorite, especially in Craftsman and Cape Cod style homes. This artisan house we created in 2018 for St. George Parade of Homes for American Heritage Homes.
We see the return of gray people years later as neutrals look to add a “grey” warmth to their homes. Here are some of our favorite colors for exterior and interior, but I always use a trick to get them at least 25-50% off at the paint supplier. This ensures that the house is not brown, but a beautiful light, modern, but warm color.

Our 2017 Home Parade for American Heritage Homes includes neutral siding colors that work well with the warmth of stone and brick. So how do you choose the right white exterior paint color for your home? With so many whites to choose from, the decision can be overwhelming.
In my opinion, you don’t want to use white that is too bright, especially on the outside of your home. Doing this will make your house dazzle in sunlight.
A suitable option is white or white paint with a slight cream tint. It is not bright and gives your home a smooth and neat look.

As you know, we are in the construction process and are currently trying to decide on an overall color scheme for the exterior. It’s a difficult decision, but one we have to make. Since most of the house is white painted brick, it all depends on the shade of white we choose!
Despite its name, Sherwin Williams Pure White isn’t really pure. It has a slight heat to it, but it doesn’t look creamy. This is probably the brightest white paint I use on the exterior of the house.
Oyster White is a warm white from Sherwin Williams. You might call it a very light grease. If you plan to have wood accents in your exterior, this is a great addition.
What Exterior Paint Should I Use?
Like Pure White, don’t let the name fool you. Benjamin Moore Simply White is a warm white color. It has a slight yellow undertone and on a side note, it’s Benjamin Moore’s color of 2016.
Benjamin Moore White Dove is a very soft white with warm gray tones. It has just the right amount of “whiteness” if you don’t want the outside of your house to be too creamy. White Dove is very popular and favored by many painting designers.
Update: We recently completed a remodel and decided to use White Dove on the outside. We are very pleased with how it turned out. In my opinion, it would be a white exterior paint color.
Exterior Paint Color Ideas For A Beautiful Home
If you’re looking for a white exterior paint color that isn’t too warm or creamy, Sherwin Williams Snowbound is a great choice. It has only a neutral gray color. It’s probably warmer than White White, but nowhere near the warmth of Oyster White or Alabaster.
We used Snowbound on the exterior of a house we flipped a few years ago. I remember he liked the way he looked.
Benjamin Moore China White is another white with a warm gray undertone. I’ve heard some say it’s dirty, but I think they’re talking more when used indoors. But outside, you don’t want white white, I think very nice.

If you’re looking for a creamy white with a hint of yellow, Sherwin Williams White Duck is it. It is a wonderful combination of sour cream and cream. You can see it here in this beautiful Garden Gate Homes home.
Update: We used Sherwin Williams White Duck on the outside of our house and couldn’t be happier with our choice! It looks very soft in full sunlight and doesn’t look too creamy. However, on a cloudy or rainy day, the color turns creamy. Below is a photo of the exterior of our home.
A natural choice is another neutral white that isn’t too yellow or gray. Compared to white duck, it is very creamy. Here’s an example of Dixon Kirby Homes’ Natural Choice home.
